Writing,A weekly newsletter written for Frontier.
Frontier Magazine shared big ideas shaping architecture and the built environment. I launched the weekly newsletter in January 2023 under the auspices of Frontier, the design office where I am editorial director. It was ostensibly a solo project: I decided the subject matter and researched every issue; I conducted the interviews; I wrote and edited it; I commissioned the illustrations from Paul Twa and others; and I published and publicized every issue.
As part of this project, in Fall 2023 I also published an eight-episode podcast series featuring interviews with artists, writers, startup cofounders, music-label owners, art collectors, and more.
Originally incorporating stories explicitly about technology and the arts, in 2024 the newsletter focused upon the built environment to better align its subject matter with the industries where Frontier finds most of its clients. It was a delight to immerse myself in the worlds of contemporary architecture, a subject I studied in university but left behind as I made a career in the art world.
